Good Friday

Hello friends and faithful readers.

I went to church tonight.  Good Friday.  I think I've decided that between Christmas, Easter and Good Friday that Good Friday is my favorite.  Why you ask?  Because for me, Good Friday church is an intimate invitation to enter into His world and imagine what it might have been like to walk His steps.  Good Friday church services are generally quieter and reflective.  What would it be like to have been there?  Confusion and wonder I'll bet.  What is it like from our vantage point, knowing His plan for our salvation?  I still don't get it completely and I may never while still on this earth.  That's one thing that makes Grace what it is but one thing I do know...  I will respond by slowing down and resting in Him.  He is God after all (not me).  That is my prayer for you as you read this, that you will hear and feel God calling you to rest in him.

I'll leave you with a video link or just the lyrics below.  Take your pick.

"The Wonderful Cross"

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

See from his head, his hands, his feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown

O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live
O the wonderful cross, O the wonderful cross
All who gather here by grace draw near and bless
Your name

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all
